What is a Blue Slip?
A Blue Slip is a more comprehensive safety and identity inspection required for unregistered vehicles, those without plates, or those brought into NSW from another state. It checks roadworthiness, compliance and identity to ensure the vehicle can be legally registered.
What is a Pink Slip?
A Pink Slip is an eSafety inspection report required for vehicles more than five years old in NSW. It confirms your vehicle is roadworthy and is needed before you can renew your registration. It’s valid for 42 days and submitted electronically to Service NSW.
How do I clear a defect notice?
To clear a defect notice, your vehicle must be repaired and inspected by an authorised inspection station. The mechanic checks that all issues listed in the notice have been fixed and submits confirmation to Service NSW. Once approved, the defect can be cleared.
